Birthday morning.......Liz and Lorraine on our balcony...still in their nighties!

On 21st June, 20 of Liz’s family arrived for her 50th Birthday bash! And an excuse for us to be tourists for a week!

It took 2 trips to the airport to collect everyone, a morning trip for Siobhan, Sammie & Ryan, then an evening jaunt to collect the bulk of the visitors on a flight from Leeds/Bradford. We collected some in our car and the rest had hired 3 cars between them, so we drove in convoy through the centre of Corfu and then the 1hr 15min journey to our village at San Stefanos (Avliotes)

We all arrived safe and sound!

Mum, Sheila, Paddy and Lorraine all stayed with us and the rest stayed in various accommodations in the resort. Siobhan, Maggie, Sammie and Ryan stayed at the luxurious Delfino Blu http://www.delfinoblu.gr/

Pippa, Wolf, Michael and Elena stayed at Stamatis Apts
Martin, Helen, Emily, David, Ruth and James stayed at The Theresa Apts

The weather remained unsettled for most of the week but this wasn’t an issue. Most days we all met up at the Athina Hotel pool, usually late morning or early afternoon, to chat swim and drink beer! Come rain or shine we swam in the pool and one afternoon in extremely heavy rain we were the only people on the beach and had a fantastic experience swimming in the sea.

We had the ‘famous’ full English breakfast at the Condor bar, Bikes and quads were hired

and we all met up to watch England being knocked out of the world cup. A mob went to The Manthos Taverna Greek night, and then some of the younger ones went into Sidari for a night out.

One evening we had all 20 sat round our table for a meal in our back garden.

Birthday Party night was a superb meal at The Mythica restaurant,

followed by cocktails at the Athens bar, with a watermelon full of vodka shots,


then dancing the night away and karaoke in the Condor bar, till the early hours!
Liz’s family will move heaven and earth to party! Thanks to everyone who made the trip! Love you x

And the world premier of our wedding video was shown, a magical day in Corfu 2005 with 50 family and friends. Carmel in Oz has patiently and brilliantly pieced together bits of footage gleaned from all the footage taken by our wedding guests to make a fantastic lasting memory for us to treasure. Thanks sweetie!
